Current Research Projects

1) In collaboration with the Utah Division of Water Quality, I am sampling macroinvertebrates in the Spanish

Fork River drainage basin in Utah County and the Weber River basin in Summit County, Utah, as part of

ongoing monitoring of water quality for TMDL assessment.

2)  Also with the Utah Division of Water Quality, I am examining macroinvertebrates at sites in the Provo

River below Jordanelle Reservoir to determine pre-impact status of communities prior to operation

of a treatment plant under construction.

3)  Evaluation of macroinvertebrates in the freshwater wetlands surrounding the Great Salt Lake to

determine changes in community composition in response to nutrient enrichment and salinity gradients.

This page has photographs of various stream reaches in the Spanish Fork River basin.

This page has photographs of various tributaries sampling in the Weber River basin.

This page has photographs of sampling sites in the Great Salt Lake Wetlands.

This page has descriptions of my previous stream research in Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and Kansas.
