publication Touchstones is published twice yearly: Fall and Spring semesters.

deadlinesUVSC student manuscripts/art for fall and spring are usually due by the end of the first full month of the semester--see the most current submission form for more details.

guidelines UVSC students may submit poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, and/or art. Submissions must be turned in with the official submission form available online or in the UVSC English & Literature Department (Liberal Arts Building, LA 114). Touchstones entries are considered both for the My Word! reading night and for a prize awarded for the best poetry, prose, and art. All contributors are paid one copy of Touchstones in exchange for one-time publication rights. All rights revert to authors upon publication.

We do not have a maximum word limit for writing, but pieces longer than 6000 words are rarely published in Touchstones.

All manuscripts are judged blindly, so only the title of your piece should be on the manuscript (see the submission form).
